Get Pushed!

Loving these shots by today’s T3i shooter – Jason Manion, of Columbus, Ohio.

Scrolling throuh Jason’s  photostream, one image in particular caught our eye – a black and white cityscape that looked nothing like his other shots.  Turns out it was taken through a super innovative Flickr group called Get Pushed, which pairs different photographers together so they can challenge each other to leave their respective comfort zones. Read more about the challenge that led to this shot by clicking on the image.

Dispatch from the Philippines

What happens when a talented photographer with a flare for color and drama meets up with a world-class art director with a cinematic vision?

In the case of BJ and Richelle Formento of F+F, they get married and go forth into the world, sending back incredible images from their work and travels.

Last month the duo traveled to the Philippines (BJ’s brithplace) with the goal of creating a work that reflected the Philippines of the 21st century.  “300 Years in the Convent 50 Years in Hollywood is the result, and if you’re in the SF Bay Area you can see the photos in person at the Togonon Gallery in San Francisco through January 7, 2012.

BJ and Richelle also appear as Guest Photographers in two installments of the Two Minute Review!  Stay tuned for their debut sometime early next year…

I’ll Be Home Soon

We continue our narcissistic kick with this self portrait from our young friend Bryant Eslava.

A California native, Bryant is wasting no time in New York.  If you act fast, you can check out his group show ending tonight at the Trumbull Studio Gallery in Brooklyn.

Here’s another window portrait.

Bryant takes a lot of shots in and through windows.  If you’re doing some holiday shopping for Bryant and unsure what he needs, allow us to humbly suggest a portable spray bottle of Windex.  It might come in handy.
